Key words:
Foreign policy. Interregionalism. Cultural and public diplomacy. Imaginary geographies.
Lines of investigation:
Political, economic, and cultural relations between the Arab world and Latin America. Public diplomacy, discourse, and interregional dynamics. The political system and international relations of the Kingdom of Morocco. Representations and imaginaries between East and West.
Bonding capabilities:
Training in international studies on the Arab-Islamic world. Research experiences and field of application in foreign policy, interregional relations between the Arab world and Latin America and intercultural dialogue.
Cyt expertise:
Specialist in the rapprochement between the Arab world and Latin America, both at the material and symbolic levels of interregional relations. My proposal combines the constructivist approach, the critique of orientalism and the perspective of the so-called Global History. Within this framework, I seek to review the articulation between foreign actions and policies with the development of discourses and visions that recreate spaces of encounter and rapprochement between both regions, especially between the Maghreb and South America. In this sense, geographical imaginaries and the construction of collective identities appear as a fertile ground for the recognition of contacts, interactions and integration processes between these different worlds.
Current research project/program:
Research Director for the project "Resistance and Protest in the Arab-Islamic Contemporary world: Emergent Social Movements and Their Regional and Global Articulations". Consolidar type project, SeCyT (Office of Science and Technology), UNC (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba).
