The course aims to introduce students to the fundamental notions of information technologies, both conceptually and from their multiple economic, political, social, artistic and cultural implications. A conceptual analysis of algorithms, their scopes and limits as well as their potentials is proposed, as a necessary condition to account for the present and complex world of these information societies.
