His work spans two fields of specialization: the social studies of economics and the analysis of socio-environmental controversies and conflicts. He has worked on research, outreach, and engagement projects aimed at understanding transformations in the world of work (worker cooperatives, the popular economy, unionized labor, and/or entrepreneurship). Since 2016, he has been conducting ethnographic research on transformations in contemporary agriculture and food production; his graduate research has analyzed the development of agroecological initiatives in contexts dominated by the agribusiness model, as well as the restructuring of regional economies under pressure from global markets. Currently, within the framework of the “State, Society, and Environmental Justice” research track (IIFAP), she is investigating the challenges, issues, and possibilities of eco-social transitions in agricultural production.
